Fruit wine made using raspberry berries and sugar that grow widely in the mountains and fields of Korea. It corresponds to liqueur or Damgeumju.
There were many wild raspberry trees in Gochang, but from the 1960s, residents living near Seonunsan Mountain moved wild raspberry trees to the field and began cultivation, and raspberry wine was created in earnest. Raspberry wine at this time was in the form of ordinary Damgeum liquor.
The first place to make raspberry wine in the form of the current fruit wine is Gochang Myeongsan Bokbunju, which was established in 1994 with the recommendation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and is located in Gochang, Jeollabuk-do, the origin of raspberry wine. 
Traditionally, it is known that raspberry fruits are made by soaking them in distilled soju. At home, it is often made by aging 30% soaking liquor with raspberry and sugar. Of course, distilled soju can be used. It is a fairly sweet liquor
It is said to have the effect of boosting yang. The name raspberry itself means a fruit that overturns the yo-gang, and it is said that the yang energy has become strong enough to overturn the yo-gang after drinking alcohol made from this fruit. According to folk legend, an old couple accidentally picked raspberry strawberries, and that night, the husband peed in the yo-gang and became so energetic that his yo-gang was overturned, and soon the wife gave birth to a son.
Grilled eel is commonly known as a side dish, but the grilled eel itself has a strong taste, so it does not go well with the sweet bokbunju. In raspberry wine, protein-rich and low-fat foods such as octopus, squid, and bossam go well with side dishes.
 Refrigerate. If raspberry wine is made at home and has not been sterilized properly, it will burst as soon as the cap is opened due to excessive aging if left at room temperature.
